Hello there! My name is Kristin, I am a social worker in a very small town in East Texas. The first thing like to tell people about myself is that I am of Christian faith and I am a newlywed. I also have the two most adorable Pembroke Welsh Corgis in the whole world, whom I love to spoil.
I enjoy crafting or reading a good book with a nice glass of red wine or hot tea. I also love to cook, trying new recipes and techniques, (I even just planted a new herb garden).
If I am not cooking, crafting, or reading a good book, I enjoy planning and hosting parties for my friends (so far my favorite ones I’ve hosted was a Pumpkin Carving Party and an Ugly Sweater Christmas Party) and spending time with my puppies and wonderful husband.
I always look forward to going to local farmers markets, antique stores, flea markets, trade days, estate sales, garage sales....you name it! I LOVE weekend treasure hunting!
I think my music preferences are quite diverse.
I like Classic Rock & Alternative Rock such as the Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Coldplay and Queen, Iron and Wine, etc. Country/bluegrass music like Johnny Cash, Little Big Town, all the music on True Blood (the show and soundtrack)... Older christian music (like Amy Grant, Michael W. Smith, Chris Tomlin) and Hymns like "Amazing Grace", "Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus", "I Surrender All", "In Christ Alone", "The Solid Rock", "How Great Thou Art", etc.
And I also love pop music from 90's - 00's like Brittany Spears, Dido, Ke$sha, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, etc.
Basically, anything that I can sing along to is good in my book!
Some of my favorite shows are Scrubs, True Blood, The Sopranos, Dexter, Glee, House, Lie to Me, CSI, NCIS, etc....
My favorite type of crafting is taking something old, mundane, cheap or unwanted; recycle it, embellish it and turn it into something beautiful and new! or anything I can glue rhinestones to....hehe
I also love crafts associated with paper (decopague, bookmarks, etc....)
(I am hoping to "magically" get a DSLR camera someday and get into photography!)
I LOVE books! My hubby sometimes teases me because we judge length of time by how many books I have read in between events ("Oh that happened two months about, because Kristin has read 4 books since that happened"...hehehe)
I like C.S. Lewis, Donald Miller, and Norman Vincent Peale
I have to admit I am a sucker for the vampire, werewolf, etc type novels. and historical fiction.
I love flipping through cookbooks
To me, a good book should be like a vacation, so I enjoy any book that takes me away from my daily stress, even if for a little while. I also love learning, so if I am not wanting a mental vacation, I also enjoy a mental workout through books that give me the opportunity to learn and grow.
ALL Disney Classics, Coraline, Secondhand Lions, RENT, Phantom of the Opera, Howls Moving Castle, The Point, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, among others

Wanna do another matchbox swap in CF?
@kayler00 thats about how far we are from Houston, I prefer the country much more than the city! exactly for those reasons! but it is nice for the shopping!! @ginabee I'm excited about the matchbox swap, never decorated one before! so far I've gone through 1 trial run, hoefully this next one will look better! tehehe....now to think of what to fill it with!! Blessings!!
I am about 2 1/2 hours away from Portland and a little bit farther away from Bar Harbor & such. And those are all the great places around the coast with great restaurants & shopping. I'm in the country. Not sure if I'd like to live in the city anyways, way to many people & horrible driving! =P
Enjoyed reading your profile! Glad you signed up for the matchbox swap.
