I live in a small village in South Lincolnshire, UK, my cottage is over 300 yrs old, it is quite small but has a large garden and views over farmland. I work full time in in a job that I love but intend to either go part time or retire at the end of this year. I love to sew and make quilts for the family, I have 2 young grandchildren and sew for them. After last years terrible weather my garden is part jungle part swamp and I need to put some serious hours into it.. I love to cook and experiment with new ingredients and flavours. I read , watch a bit of TV and rock through my housework to loud and lively music, anything from Doris Day to AC DC via Jim Reeves and Pavarotti.

PASTIMES. I read, sometimes 3 books a week, almost anything from chick lit to horror, I like autobiographies and cookbooks and I have a small collection of gardening and craft books. I love to sew, mostly quilting but a little bit of dressmaking and a bit of pillow and bag making. I also love to cook, unfortunately for my waistline I like to eat as well.

LIKES

Bright colours, there is no beige in my life. Strong tea and coffee, black no sugar. Dark dark chocolate. Freshly baked bread and cakes. Bright sunny days. Scented flowers. a rose with no scent may just as well be plastic. Lounging on the sofa with a good book.

DISLIKES

Rudeness, it costs nothing to be polite. lukewarm tea, yeugh! White chocolate. Being late for anything. Freezing fog.
