I live in the Pacific Northwest area of the United States. I love to read, quilt (especially scrap quilts!) and make new things out of cool junk.
Most of my days are spent making sure that two kiddos are where they're supposed to be, that they're doing what they're supposed to be doing and that they have everything they need. I occasionally work at an outside job, too.
I read every chance I get and finally started keeping a reading log a few years ago so I don't unintentionally reread something. Some of my favorite authors are Barbara Kingsolver, Cormac McCarthy, Lee Child, Robert Crais, Dorothy Gilman, Nelson DeMille, Jacqueline Winspear, Willa Cather, Ken Follett and Jussi Adler-Olsen. Newly discovered favorites are Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Tana French, David Mitchell, Octavia Butler, and Ben H. Winters.
Other recent reads I enjoyed are Wool by Hugh Howey, The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows, and Binti by Nnedi Okorafor.
My favorite childhood books are Z For Zachariah by Robert C. O'Brien and The Island of the Blue Dolphins by Scott O'Dell.
Most of my current works in progress are quilts or quilty things to use in our home. I also like projects where I can use all the weird stuff I save.
I love to make collages, homemade postcards, envelopes, quilty things, ATCs.
