I live in Miami, Florida with my husband and three kids. We just moved here in January after a year in Reno, Nevada. Previously, we lived in Indiana for almost 11 years. We are both originally from Grand Haven, Michigan, which is a cute resort town on Lake Michigan. I'm 36 years old.
I am currently doing nothing as far as employment. I owned my own DJ business for 10 years in Indiana, doing mostly weddings and school dances. I'm still figuring out what my next business will be. Something creative is guaranteed!
My current lusts include japanese crafting, quilting (with fabric from japan!), bubble tea, and sakura pens.
I love chocolate from independent confectionaires and also Vosges Haut Chocolat. I also love cupcakes and cupcake-related items and crafts. Candy from other countries, especially japanese and Surprise Eggs.
My favorite US cities that i've visited: Chicago, San Francisco (Bay Area included), Portland (OR), and Burlington, Vermont. I also love Toronto and Montreal in Canada. I also love many cities, villages and towns in Germany and Austria. There are so many more European countries cities I want to visit someday. Top of the list is Portugal, Netherlands, and Norway. I also want to go to Argentina and Brasil in South America.
My screen name on both Glitter and Get Crafty is PamTheQueen. I've done swaps before at the "Old Glitter" but stopped after getting burned from a few partners. I miss doing it, so here I am!!
They Might Be Giants, REM, Dead Milkmen, B-52's, King Wilkie, moe., Strangefolk, 80's and 90's music. I love all kinds of music, however, because a decade of my life was spent playing top 40 danceable music for weddings and school dances every weekend, my personal listening habits feature music I don't play at those types of events (except really cool weddings!). The only current top 40 artists I really enjoy are Gwen Stefani and Fergie.
Xanadu!!!! (is that wrong to admit? I LOVE IT!) Anything with John Cusack! Brat Pack movies are also swell.
Most programs on Food TV, DIY Network (especially Craft Lab!), and HGTV.
sewing, painting, embroidery, jewelry design, anything japanese, journal making, and much more!
I was starting to get into knitting and crocheting the last few years (I can make hats and scarves!).
I do not scrapbook, but I do use scrapbook store papers for other crafts. I like real found items (not fake repros). Vintage 60's and 70's craft books and cookbooks rock! Vintage fabric, too! Old aprons and my favorite: vintage calendar linen towels.
I like owls/birds, deer, squirrels, and hippos.
