I prefer private swaps. If you're interested in doing a swap, feel free to contact me.
"Make sure that you have an understanding of the words that you say or do not so say. Things that you do not say or write can have just as great of an impact as things that you do say and write. Always be polite with others, It is hurtful to people If you do not extend the same courtesy to them as they have to you. Take time to make people smile"
My name is Andrea, married, love reading, writing, travelling and handcrafts, in special patchwork and quilting. I had bachelor´s degree in Tourism, but Graphical Designer for profession, currently studying to be a Dental Prosthesis Technician , love photographs, old architecture, History, animals and orchids. I believe that craft is a wonderful learning process which offers constant inspiration and innovative ideas to try something new.
I like House, I really need a Doc like him with his brains :-), I usually watch Discovery and History Channel as well and The Tudors ( I´m a fan!), and at Warnwer Chanel The Big Bang Theory.
Patchwork (or Quilting), Crochet, Journaling, Stitchery, Mail Art.
Indiana Jones (all of them), Star Wars (all of them), Harry Potter, and comedies.
I have a lot of pets: a Yorkshire called Cognac (in memoriam since 2012), 2 Cockatiel (Jackie and Billie), an Aquarium, and a beautiful garden with some humming birds that usually visit me.
Likes: Fabric: 100% Cotton fabric,Felt Small prints, small floral,pastels ( all that remember romantic and spring))... Paper and pictures: Vintage ( early 1900 to 50`s),Ephemera. For Journaling my fave suplies are from 7gypsies and Melissa Frances (or something that is similar to them!)
Dislikes: (I do not have none another restriction beyond this:) I can only swap internationally, therefore, the majority of snail mail Swaps that I´m joined or will join is about letter to penpal letters, ATC cards, post cards…. or only that I can send contend paper. Brazilian Post Office do not allow mail little things like ribbons, buttons, pencils, matchboxes, candies and to other kind of 3d stuff in envies like letters because they are not considered merchandises and documents and must to be dispatched as parcels with a high mail fee and with delivery confirmation.
Also, I dislike people who cannot wait delivery of my Swaps as I can from outside because I live in Brazil. I would like that Brazilian Post Service and other Oficial Officies works efficient as fast as are in other countries to decide some postal issues but here they do not work as I want.
If member join one International Swap must have common-sense of this, If member can not understand that I can not control Postal System deliveries, it is better only swap inside their own country to prevent misunderstanding.
"Quantity" of completed rated swaps in a profile does not means "Quality" for an international swapper as me, and even not participated in a lot off "snail mail" swaps as I wish here in Swap Bot I am always worried in choosing of which I want (or I can) to join due to this kind of postal restriction.
Some consideration is appreciate always. I´m here to make friends not war.
About rating system, boring part but necessary for who had been "burned an shooted unfairly"....
I´m sorry to say that, but I don´t believe in it rating, as many people don´t rate me when received a package or a simple postcard. So it´s not fair enough to be reliable. It is really a pity because I promptly rate everybody, I think it will be a duty not a favor.I consider the send-by date to be part of swap requirements and will rate accordingly.Some swappers (hapily just a one unpleasent person!) do not take serious international swaps conditions and about this bad experiences here ( I hope not have more) I will follow some rules to system rate:
Minimum swaps requirements is necessary always;
If your swap is not marked sent by the due date and you have not contacted me, I will send you a reminder, and if I do not hear from you if you have some problem you in 7 days I will mark a 1 until I receive it or you contact me with explanation;
If you have marked "sent" but I still haven't received your swap 45 days after the send-by date,and you have not provided me with a good reason, I will try and contact you before rating a 1.I will consider that I live in Brazil and always my swaps come from other country. I always received swaps and letters outside Swap Bot since 1998, and usually buy in Ebay, Etsy , Amazon and other e-shops from all over the world and know how long stuff generally delay to arrives here and how brazilian post system works;
If I feel your swap is unreasonably late, I will rate a 3 unless we have agreed otherwise.More than 3 months of delay;
I am always willing to discuss options such as re-routing swaps if you are unable to send within a reasonable time. If you are responsible enough to make the effort to sort something out, I will not rate you negatively. I never do that. I have the "spirit of the law" instead "letter of the law".
Please, give me the benefit of doubt before rating me, if you didn´t receive anything from me, PM me before rating. Parcels from here to USA and Canada usually takes 25-65 days to arrive. That is what they say, but it can vary a lot. From here to Europe, it may take more, around a 2 months.For other places I have no ideia. I received from Japan in 40 days, from South Africa in a month, so that varies a lot.I received parcels from USA that took 20 days to arrive, others that took more than a month, and some of than got lost. My penpal from Australia sent me a letter in May and I received it in October. Please, be aware that this is a possibility when joining an international swap.I always provide to my partners a receipt copy by e-mail from all posts that I´ve made if is necessary.
Please, always add delivery registration (register post) to send me your parcel or a extensive fuller envelope (not for post cards or regular writting letters), The Postal System is really good to losing my things that do not have register, and, so, I will provide always delivery registration to you in my parcels and fuller envelopes and if I have any problem here I will investigate what they are doing, ok?
I am always worried about that mine partners always receiving mine swaps, a fee postal delivery register will not cost more than what second sending certainty. If no cost a lot for me that live in Brazil and sent swaps to whole world also you will no cost for you.
Prohibitions and Restrictions to send to BRAZIL by Post:
-First-Class Mail International items may not contain dutiable articles. Imports are allowed by mail, including mail order catalog shipments, up to a value of U.S. $500 (U.S. $1000 for computer software) without the requirement of an import license provided the item is not for resale. Identical shipments from the same source to the same person or address in Brazil within a 90 day period are considered part of the same shipment and may be subject to confiscation.
I'm available to private swap and I can help you to get anything from Brazil if it is possible to mail.Brazilian Post has a restriction with glass and other stuffs that can be broken as ceramic for example. I prefer private swaps. If you're interested in doing a swap, feel free to contact me :)
Would like to be my Penpal? It will be a pleasure, I could write to you with my "broken" english or portuguese, some penpal friends are learning portuguese with me, want to join? PM are always welcome!

Andrea, thank you for the lovely postcard. It arrived last week just before the Brazilian grand prix :-) Good timing. Hope you have fun with your volunteer work and hopefully will catch up with you again in January xxxx
Thanks for joining Harry Potter Fans Worldwide.
Andrea I removed the rating...chill out. I had you mixed up with someone else.
Hi! I got your name in the Simple Pen Pal Swap, International :) I'll start on your letter this weekend and get it out very soon. I have to head out for the day now, but when I get back I'll read your profile and get started! :) Have a great day
Hello Andrea-- I am one of your partners for the "Read my Profile and leave a nice comment #2" swap. I find it very humbling how dedicated you are to your swaps-- even though I am a considerate swapper, I am inspired by your meticulous attention to beauty and quality. Hopefully I will have you for a swap partner one of these days! :)
