I'm rather contentedly nerdy. I adore reading books, especially sci-fi. I'm a vegetarian with strong vegan leanings. I like to cook, and knit, and write some. I love animals, but am sadly allergic to pet dander. I spend way too much time on the internet.
I am not so fond of coffee (gives me migraines) or soda (don't like the bubbles). I don't really like pastels, but see their purpose. I prefer home-made or thoughtful over mass-produced.
I like a lot of music, from classic rock to underground hiphop, indie rock to electronic. Some of my fave artists are the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Del tha funkee homosapien, ELO, Dead Kennedys, Cake, Portishead. I'll listen to just about anything except mainstream country or r&b.
Blade Runner, the first Matrix, Ghost in the Shell, From Hell, The Fifth Element, Lord of the Rings, Gattaca, Lock Stock & Two Smoking Barrels, Dune, Sin City, Clerks, American Psycho. I like sci-fi and comix based movies, but am especially drawn to independent or artier movies. I think Michael Bay should be forcibly prevented from ever making or influencing another film. Tarkovsky's Solaris is one of the most beautiful profound films I've ever seen, but it's not for everyone.
FAVORITE BOOKS:
I am a total book junkie. I love love love to read. I especially adore science fiction and murder mystery types, and read a lot of comix as well. However, I will read just about anything (I read through my encyclopedias as a child, for entertainment). My favorite authors are Philip K Dick, Arthur Clark, William Gibson, Frank Herbert, J R R Tolkien, Anne Rice, James Patterson, Thomas Harris, Francesca Lia Block, and the like.
Iron Chef, Star Trek, Cowboy Bebop, Six Feet Under, Family Guy, stuff like that. I don't really like watching TV, because I despise commercials, but I love to watch DVDs of good TV shows.
I like to dabble in sculpture, cross-stitch, crochet, and such. I really love making something by hand or from scratch just to understand the process. Thanks to swapbot, I've recently discovered ATCs, and am really enjoying creating small unique artworks.
A NOTE ABOUT MY ONE "1" RATING: My partner contacted me a bit rudely about no cards showing up. I did send them, and my other partner received them. When my partner suggested that if I resent she'd be willing to "generously" grace me with a "3" rating, I explained that I was not inclined to send her two packages for a mediocre rating. If she had been nice about it, I'd have happily sent more cards, but she was snooty and a bit condescending. I'm sorry, I will never bend over backwards for someone who is rude to me without cause. So I have a "1" because the post office goofed and she was rude.
