And can you believe I left my room for 2 minutes and when I came back....my cat (William) had opened one of the presents! Haha, the one with the catnip toy....he couldn't resist it. Comment: It was nice to swap with you, Holly; I am fond of the poem you chose from the many that Maya Angelou write. I always have a terribly hard time selecting just one poem as I like nearly all so much, with the exception of E. A. Poe who's never been a writer I like. Just too odd and "obsessed" I think. But then, with his childhood, he may have been severely damaged and shaped by all of its pieces. Hope you are enjoying fall weather and trees full of gorgeous leaves! I'm envious--here in Houston we are still in the humid 90's with everything a weary shade of green. I know that sounds odd, but leaves are so lush and glowing in early June and by late August take on a dull, thirsty, "weary" look as if the heat has worn them out as well as the people! :-)

So thrilled that you enjoy sharing this interest with your mother. I know I have my mom to think for my great love of books. She was an avid reader of mostly fiction and westerns and read everything that came out at the bookstores, so it seems she never really got into romances except for awhile when she got hooked on the Harlequin ones, then I guess they just got to be so so and she gave them up for better things.
