Comment: Such a perfect hedgehog for WPD! Thank you. We still don't have fall colors in our city. Nights are in the 40s and 50s and daytime temps in the 60s and 70s. Days are significantly shorter now and days feel cooler than those warm temps.

Response: I could definitely do recommendations, but I read books almost exclusively on my Kindle and/or checked out from the libraray, I hardly ever purchase them anymore. Books have gotten really expensive!

Comment: Hi, thanks for the Amish card. We don't have Amish people locally, several counties east of us are many. Locally we have Mennonites though. They have a similar history as Amish, coming here from Switzerland and Germany. They don't dress like Amish though. The women wear long dresses and their hair is covered with some kind of gauzy net but the men seem to dress like the rest of the population. Take care, Rich

Comment: What a gorgeous postcard of the Seven Mountains - so pretty and bright! In answer to your question: trick or treating is becoming more of an event here, with the shops full of treats, costumes and decorations. I think kids love the lolly (candy) idea of it, and dressing up. Some houses were decorated as well. Me, I like Christmas!

Response: I got the leaves at a really cool second hand shop in Houston called Art Asylum. It's a great place for artists (not that I consider myself an artist), you never know what you'll find there. I'm glad the package made it there ok... Thanks for the heart!

Comment: What a lovely swap. Everything was so nice from the envelope, card and all the wonderful tuck ins. This was a very thoughtful swap and I thank you for sending! WV isn't hot like TX. We'll get 90 temps in July and August. Right now is perfect--low 70's and the leaves are finally back on the trees. I'm surrounded 360 degrees by mountains and it's heaven when they are green again. Comment: Lisa--I had assumed I'd rated your cards when I received them, but I've kept them on my desk to be certain. I just rated them after checking and seeing that if I DID rate them, it didn't get saved; I've had that problem along with a few fellow swappers. We've had to rate and save 2 or 3 times before it finally was saved. So I'm trying again and will hope it is saved this time!

Response: Thank you for the kind words. It rained for about 4 days straight here, that was after I wrote my postcards for this swap. It was pretty crazy. We watched the water in our street rise up into our yard, closer and closer, but we were fortunate and it didn't flood our home. So many others were not so lucky, it is very sad to see.

Response: Hello! To answer your question, there was a big advertising campaign in Texas a few years back to encourage people to throw trash away properly instead of littering. The campaign slogan was "Don't mess with Texas" and it really caught on (became popular) because we Texans are very proud of our state and we don't want anyone to "mess" with us. I'm not sure I explained that very well but I hope it makes sense! Thanks for the rating!

Comment: Thanks for the lovely cards - my favorite one is the birds, but the others are fab, too! I hear you about having time to do our own art - I can get carried away with swaps, myself. I'm having fun seeing what people send, write in notes, etc. Oh, and thanks for the pretty envie too - I like to make calendar page enives, but find that many of the pages don't hold a fold well, they tear at the fold line, which is disappointing. Looks like my middle boy, Dallas :) This morning we had a big white bunny in our back yard :) he was enjoying the goodies and treats we put out for the birds :) Had a mom and young moose not too long ago visit our back yard :) Thank you for the wonderful card :)
