We don't have a bat house but my husband is putting one up for our neighbors - they have a wooded area behind their house. We saw our first Spring bat a couple of weeks ago - it was exciting! : ) We took a sick bat to a rescue once but he couldn't be saved, sadly. I did find a neat postcard book, though, so I guess I need to send some postcards. :) In researching for this swap, I learned that he was the artist for the PBS Mystery! series, too, and I remember being a bit disturbed by that! I wonder if that show/series is available on any of the 1000 streaming services? Hmm... Thanks for sharing!

On of the major Universities here, the U of British Columbia has a number of purported hauntings - of course I attended a different University! I Live only 2 miles from the beach, and It's amazing to see the water birds and backyard birds everyday!!! There is an Island we go to and during nesting time, you just walk and there is nest and eggs everywhere! You have to be very careful, mom and dad will dive bomb you!!! lol

I have swallows nest in my yard each year, and they are usually so tame, until the hatchlings are born. Then, they act fierce, but so far it has only been bluff dives. ;)

My friend did have an injured barred owl and took him to be cared for at a bird sanctuary. She brought him here in a pet crate on her way for me to see and take photos. He was a beauty. I read a few Icelandic authors, but can't recall the Cat popping up in the books I've read. :) I also loved your paper!! And the sticker is GREAT! Comment: How neat, I've always wanted to do a DNA test to find out what kind if blood really flows through these muddy veins. I've always been told I have Irish, the names on the family tree are a clue this is true lol. I love the necklace! Funny coincidence, I also sent my partner a necklace depicting my Hispanic heritage!

I truly enjoyed reading about your experiences with owls and I LOVE the towel AND keychain--that was so generous to send two items! When I was driving in the country one day, I looked over at a barren cornfield and there was a HUGE owl just sitting in the middle of the field--I assume he was looking for critter snacks. I actually pulled over and watched him for the longest time. They are truly majestic aren't they? Did you know the collective noun for a group of owls is a "parliament of owls"? It even sounds regal! I had always wondered about sewing/crafting with that material (fleece?...not sure what it's called) and now I have a great example of it. And the teas were perfect, too. I am hoping that I didn't misunderstand this swap though, because I decorated my envelope and then put stamps on it and mailed it!!! Comment: The Blue Ridge Mountains came to my doorstep in the form of a glorious package sent to me by the lovely and incredible swapper Changeling. Hand-dipped old-style crafted candles, a true Quill, a book of Ghost stories from the area, a collection of hand-written recipes like shoe-fly pie were among the things so beautifully presented. I have a colorful fabric scented herb pouch, a collection of wooden and metal whimsies,to include a hand carved wooden spoon, literature galore and a detailed well written letter describing the people,culture, music and history of the area. It was also so nice hearing about your talented family. I can just hear the old ballads, the fiddle and banjos and taste the lavender lemonade and herb treats. I also appreciate how you described your expierences with the recent tragic history of the area. You are a true historian, combining the past with the present and making it relevant to the future. Thank you so much.
